1. Register with the Board: fill out application and pay registration fee for license
2. Pass criminal background
3. For Pharmacy Technician Advanced License, must additionally have one of the following:
   • PTCB Certification
   -OR-
   • Successfully completed the National Community Pharmacy Technician Training Program and passed the National Pharmacy Technician examination (NPT).
4. Renew registration annually

A Pharmacy Technician Advanced License allows the pharmacy technician to perform more tasks than a Pharmacy Technician License and allows pharmacists to supervise more technicians with the advanced license than without.
