Pharmacy Technician Candidate:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. High school diploma or GED
3. Pass background check
4. One of the following:
   • PTCB certification
   -OR-
   • Enrolled in a board-approved training program
5. Register with Board: fill out application and pay registration fee
6. Registration is good for 18 months, then need to apply for Pharmacy Technician Certificate through the Board

Pharmacy Technician Certificate:

1. Must first register as Pharmacy Technician Candidate with the Board
2. Must be 18 years of age or older
3. High school diploma or GED
4. Pass background check
5. Earn 600 practical experience hours: earned by working in a pharmacy, recorded on Pharmacist Affidavit
6. PTCB certification
7. Register with Board for Pharmacy Technician Candidate: fill out application and pay registration fee
8. Registration renewed annually: 10 hours of ACPE-approved continuing education credits required
