Washington Pharmacy Technician Requirements
How to become a pharmacy technician in Washington
- Apply for license with the Board: fill out application, pay license fee and complete background check
- Complete a Board-approved training program
- Pass a national pharmacy technician certification examination administered by a program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA)- the PTCB is NCCA approved
- Eight hours of Washington State pharmacy law study
- Four hours of education in the prevention, transmission and treatment of AIDS

Approved Pharmacy Technician Schools in Washington
The Washington Board of Pharmacy does not keep a list of approved pharmacy technician training programs. Instead, the Board has a list of certain requirements for training and requires the designated program director to sign a certification that the training meets the requirements.
