How to become a pharmacy technician in Connecticut

  1. Work in a pharmacy
  2. Receive documented training from a pharmacist manager in a licensed or institutional pharmacy
  3. Certification through:
    • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
    • -OR-
    • Any other equivalent pharmacy technician certification program approved by the department
  4. Register with the State Board: fill out application and pay the registration fee
  5. Renew registration annually
